Summary

Chickasaw Country Captive is the second book in the Cooper Justice series written by Paula Graves. This family thriller is set in Jefferson County and develops characters who match the lifestyle of the locals to make the story more realistic and communicative.

Sam Cooper, the D.A. for Jefferson County, realizes that someone is trying to kidnap his daughter for unknown reasons. He wants his daughter Maddy protected at all costs and takes every chance he gets to get clues to the unknown suspect. Not before long, he meets a distractingly attractive detective, Kristen Tandy, who offers Sam help to find the kidnapper. While both try to solve the case together, Sam is also trying to stay away from Kristen. Kristen also keeps her distance from the father and daughter while she is ready to help.

Soon when the events turn more interesting, Sam wants to know the reason behind Kristen’s strange behavior. When Sam tries to get close to Kristen and tries to scratch her closely guarded vulnerability, he learns about Kristen’s past, which reveals a lot of loopholes in the story. Sam realizes that her silence is the reason why her daughter is still protected.
